Watched

I continue to have no desire whatsoever to watch "Grapes of Wrath" or "Shane", but I think I've made some progress since the last time.

The difference between now and then would have been more impressive if I had been correct in believing that "Rebel Without A Cause" and "Rocky" had been watched more recently than 2008.

What's that? I disappeared for months?

I'm trying to get into the Christmas spirit by watching Christmas movies, so I'm trying to make a list of all the movies to watch before the day (in no order, other than the order I think of them in).

  1. The Muppet Christmas Carol (Michael Caine! Muppets!)
  2. Elf
  3. The Polar Express
  4. Christmas in Connecticut (Mmmmmm, Dennis Morgan)
  5. White Christmas (Danny Kaye! Dean Jagger is adorable! Mary Wickes! Dancing!)
  6. Die Hard
  7. Die Hard 2: Die Harder
  8. A Blackadder Christmas Carol
  9. Miracle on 34th Street
  10. In the Good Old Summertime (I'm really sorry I thought you died thirty years ago, Van Johnson!)
  11. Love Actually
  12. Holiday Inn
  13. While You Were Sleeping
  14. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
  15. A Christmas Story (Blergh)
  16. Scrooge
  17. A Christmas Carol
  18. Annie
  19. The Bells of St. Mary
  20. Going My Way
  21. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (Clearly this was intended as a joke, because Chevy Chase sucks.)
  22. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
  23. It's A Wonderful Life
  24. The Man Who Came to Dinner (A fellow alum again! Penguins!)
  25. Scrooged
  26. Home Alone
  27. Prancer (I've never heard of this.)
  28. Bridget Jones's Diary
  29. Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason
Feel free to comment your suggestions.

Marie and I have just decided that we both want to be Sean Connery when we grow up.

Mamma Mia!

As you may have heard, Mamma Mia! is coming to the big screen! If you like ABBA, this is good news. If you are my father or godfather, this is terrifying news because the women in your life will probably drag you to see it in the cinema, just like they did in the theater.

This is not what has me so excited. The fact that Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Amanda Seyfried are in it is not the exciting thing either. The exciting thing is that there are rumors of the casting of the father of Sweden's Sexiest Man 1999 and Mr. Darcy as Bill and Harry!

Oh crap. That means they sing.

Whatever, she likes Thomas Ian Nicholas

As Sarah is back for the family viewing of 1776, I feel it is time to come clean.

When I was younger, about six, I had crushes on these two men: this one and this one*.

I tell you this so that Sarah can never use them as ammunition against me.

* He likes American History and one of his favorite movies is a Bond film.....heehee.

Reasons why I almost peed my pants during "The DaVinci Code"

#1 - There was a preview for the new James Bond movie. *snort*
#2 - As the child of archivists, every time they touched ancient documents I screamed a little inside.
#3 - The characters were very different than I expected them to be, so I kept expecting stuff to happen and it didn't.
#4 - Scenes in Scotland = Happy me!

Also, I just really had to pee. Don't buy large drinks during long movies.

It was "scrumtralescent."

At the request of Cheryl, I have finally decided to blog about The Cutting Edge: Going for the Gold.

This is the greatest movie ever. Nothing about this movie sucked at all. It was maaaaaaahvelous.

*crickets*

Ok, that was a lie.

I knew this movie was going to suck before I watched it and I was not disappointed. The sucking began when the movie started at a skating competition, in which the star's father was doing the play-by-play with Oksana Baiul. The sucking continued with the sniping between the male and female leads - it was cute and well done in the original film, now it's just stupid and poorly written.

I did laugh when the male lead was learning how to skate (yeah, he had never been on ice skates before) and the five year old girls in his skating class were shouting "Toe-pick!" at him. I wanted to hit the female lead when she did the same.

Also, the male lead being able to go from not ever skating to being an Olympic calibre skater within three months - not going to happen.

Apparently, Kate and Doug DID win the gold medal - there was a crappily Photoshopped picture of them that appeared to be from the 60s, 70s, or 80s, definitely not 1992 in Albertville.

IT SUCKED SO BAD and the female lead was the most painful part.

Darn you, Joel!

Joel let me borrow some of his movies. I borrowed Braveheart and For the Love of the Game. I started crying at the end of one. Take a guess which.....

OMG

They're making a sequel to The Cutting Edge. Without D.B. Sweeney.

Whatever. It's going to suck without him.

Tuesday, April 26, 2005

Oh gross

Does Kate Bosworth at least know who Lois Lane is? She certainly didn't know who Sandra Dee was.

If the only redeming feature is Colin Firth in leather pants, why would I go see it?

The answer: Because it has Colin Firth wearing leather pants. I want to punch Amanda Bynes. She gets to be in a movie with Colin Firth. I think I'm going to go watch Pride and Prejudice. Darn her....

Smokes like a chimney, drinks like a fish, doesn't eat

That pretty much sums up Megan's celebrity crush. We discussed him at the pancake supper before we went to see Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. It made me feel better because she forgot my celebrity crush's name and calls him "Big Nose" instead.

That's weird

I am the number 161 search request for "bowling for columbine" quotes. Yay for me...maybe I should actually go see it.

I am not kidding Disney, it's time to stop!

Apparently, Disney feels that all of its movies require sequels. We've had 3 Aladdins (possibly more), 2 Hunchback of Notre Dames, 2 Little Mermaids, 2 Cinderellas, 2 Pocahontases (and many more others), but they are now making this...

Magnum and the Last Crusade

Yesterday morning, after my 8am viewing of Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, I watched Magnum P.I. In case you didn't know, Tom Selleck was supposed to play Indiana Jones, but was busy with his new series, Magnum P.I. and the role went to Harrison Ford instead. Anyway, on this episode, Magnum was searching with an ex-fiancee and Higgins for the Lost Art. Magnum dressed like Indy, acted like Indy, the plot was like that of an Indiana Jones movie and the music was similar. It was funny and I wished that I still had IJ and the Last Crusade here with me at school.

Heehee

One of my favorite characters in the movie Can't Hardly Wait was the Foreign Exchange Student. I read his bio on IMDB. It turns out that Alexander Martin is not only American, but the grandson of Dean Martin. That is cool! Dean Martin is one of my favorite singers.

Wednesday, October 09, 2002

I am such a nerd.

I watched this movie last night (but only the last hour) and today I'm watching the last hour again. But this time I thought ahead.

Wednesday, January 02, 2002

Why would anyone make this film?

yay...i have my own blog! snow dogs sounds like a REALLY stupid movie.
